Meagen McCusker M.D., M.S., FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist. Dr. McCusker completed her medical education at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine (UConn). She also completed her residency education in dermatology at UConn in 2011, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Afterwards, Dr. McCusker joined the UConn faculty as an Assistant Professor, where she divided her time taking care of patients and teaching medical students and residents. In 2013, Dr. McCusker helped create an inpatient dermatology consult service at Hartford Hospital. Dr. McCusker became the Medical Director of Integrated Dermatology of Enfield in 2015. In 2018, she expanded her practice to Simsbury. Dr. McCusker specializes in all aspects of dermatology, including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has a special interest in complex medical dermatology and is an expert in managing systemic therapies and the use biologic therapies.
Dr. McCusker also has a special interest in nutrition for the skin. She has appeared on several occasions on NBC Connecticut for segments such as Superfoods for the Skin and Natural Sun Protective Products. She was also interviewed by the Washington Post to discuss Probiotics for Skin Health. Dr. McCusker has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, has authored text-book chapters, and she participates in lectures for medical students, residents, and physicians.
In her free time, Dr. McCusker enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. She enjoys cycling, hiking, antiquing, traveling and cheering for her kids.
Michael J. Payette, M.D., M.B.A., FAAD. is a board-certified dermatologist. He received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Dartmouth College in 2002. In 2008, Dr. Payette earned both his M.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine (UConn), where he continued to complete his dermatology residency in 2012. Prior to joining Integrated Dermatology (IDG), Dr. Payette served as Chief Resident, Assistant Professor, and Associate Residency Program Director at UConn. Dr. Payette’s specialties include general dermatology, inflammatory skin disorders (especially atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and hidradenitis suppurativa), application of biologic medications, and diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Payette was born and raised in Berlin, CT. Well before college, he always knew he wanted to practice medicine, and in particular dermatology, as he was intrigued by the complex nature of skin diseases and the impact of immunology on the skin. What inspires him the most? His patients. Being able to care for his patients and their families is what motivates him each day.
Dr. Payette enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, hiking, exercising, and being an avid Patriots fan! He also enjoys astronomy, history, and reading.
Andrew Kelsey, MD is a board-certified Dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. He completed his Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has extensive training in head and neck reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Kelsey completed his Dermatology residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut where he served as chief resident. He trained with pioneers in skin cancer and melanoma detection. While in training he developed an expertise in dermoscopy a tool used to find early skin cancers. He has authored numerous peer reviewed scientific papers, book chapters and has presented at national conferences.
Kelly Mead is a certified Physician’s Assistant. Ms. Mead received her Master of Science in Sports Medicine as well Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Oregon. Kelly graduated from the Yale School of Medicine Physician Associate program with honors in 1992 and later completed her advanced dermatological training from the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SPDA) where she earned Diplomate status. Kelly brings over 25 years of experience as a PA, which includes more than 20 years of extensive experience in surgery and 15 years in dermatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physicians Assistants (SPDA). She is skilled in general and surgical dermatology for both adult and pediatric patients. Kelly enjoys teaching students from BayPath University. She also enjoys teaching her patients about their skin disease to empower them to take care of their skin. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys hiking, gardening, playing basketball and traveling all over the world with her twins.
Michael Lund PA-C is nationally board certified as a Physician Assistant. He began his education at Springfield College where he graduated Cum Laude in 2003. After graduation Michael worked in emergency medicine and primary care before specializing in dermatology. Over the last 7 years he has spent his time gaining experience and training in adult and pediatric dermatology.
Michael is a retired Coast Guard Veteran, where he served during the Gulf War and as a helicopter rescue swimmer. His interests also extend to rebuilding vintage automobiles, attending every kind of concert and sporting event, as well as spending time with his family.
Maja Matwiejczuk (pronounced Mott-vee-AY-chook) is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Central Connecticut State University, where she graduated summa cum laude. Early in her career, she worked in Emergency Medicine at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Ms. Matwiejczuk continued her education at Simmons University in Boston, MA, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Nursing. Maja is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Matwiejczuk enjoys treating patients of all ages with acne, rosacea and atopic dermatitis, as well as many other common skin conditions. In addition, she has exceptional training in the early detection of skin cancers. Outside of dermatology, Maja enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and trying new types of food.
Caitlin Cormier received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2007 with honors. She has over 13 years of experience working in Intensive Care Units and became nationally certified as a Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) in 2013. Caitlin has spent a multitude of years as a travel nurse integrating her love for healthcare and travel.
Caitlin is a mom of 3, loves hiking the U.S. National Parks and has never met a DIY project she doesn’t like. She has a personal passion for the science of skincare and is excited to be joining the Integrated Dermatology team with a concentration in cosmetics.
Kathleen Sheeran received her Bachelor Degree in Human Services in 2002, and has been a Registered Nurse since graduating in 2006. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2020 from Western Governor’s University. She has over 16 years of nursing experience, spending a majority of that time at Hartford Hospital in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Kathy is proud to be a Nightingale recipient in 2019, honoring her passion for providing a great patient care experience.
Outside of the office, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family (and dog) outdoors hiking and swimming when weather permits, and teaching her two children how to cook and bake when New England weather has other plans. Having had a longstanding interest in skincare and cosmetic treatments, Kathy is thrilled to have joined the Integrated Dermatology team, marrying her passion for skincare and patient care.
Connie Marcy is a licensed Clinical Nutritionist. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
She recently completed programs in Women’s Health Issues, Nutritional Pharmacology, Gastro-Intestinal Health, Pediatric Clinical Nutrition, Bio-Energetic Medicine, Applied Kinesiology and Autoimmune Disorders. Patients include infants, children, teens, adults and seniors.
She has a special interest in food sensitivity, digestive disorders especially as they relate to skin problems, and autoimmune illnesses and has over 25 years of experience.
